The Smart Decision Process

The Smart Decision Process™ helps you create a dynamic model for making smart financial decisions that are based on your most important goals.  Created by Epple Financial Advisors, LLC, The Smart Decision Process™ will help you take advantage of your time, money and opportunities, protect and nurture your family, and achieve your goals.

The Smart Decision Process™ is a step-by-step process divided into distinct phases.  In phase one, you participate in a one-on-one Starter Session to assess your current situation and set goals.  When you've completed the session, you'll be ready to participate in The Smart Decision Program, which helps you develop strategies and a detailed plan.  We then help you develop a team and implement your plan.  You can also take advantage of The Smart Decision Toolbox, our full suite of tools and capabilities.

The program is based on the proven wisdom of other experts and on what we have learned while working with our very best clients over the past 10 years. It gives you a proven path to follow that ensures you build a fundamentally sound financial foundation while working towards your unique goals and future.

For many of our clients, The SMART Decision Process™ enables them to avoid or escape The Financial Alarm Trap™

The Financial Alarm Trap™
From time to time, we all experience some level of doubt. It is when this doubt turns to alarm that most people take action. The problem with waiting until things become alarming is, it is usually too late; when the alarm goes off, the fire has already started!

That’s why we call it a trap. Once someone’s sense of alarm reaches a point where they absolutely have to take action, the chances are some harm has already been done.

That’s why we are here to help you avoid or escape The Financial Alarm Trap™

Does this sound familiar?
If you are wondering if you are vulnerable to this condition, check these common symptoms and see if any ring true for you:
  • Feeling overwhelmed by constant change
  • Increasingly at the mercy of forces beyond your control (e.g.: performance of the market, tax laws, insurance regulations…)
  • Feelings of regret over mistakes made or opportunities missed
  • A suspicion your advisor’s focus is only on selling you investment and/or insurance products
  • You never seem to have the time to this the right way

And there are many others…

Why do we fall into this trap?
All sorts of factors contribute to the repeated occurrence of The Financial Alarm Trap™. (Yes, it happens again and again until you make a fundamental, permanent change in how you approach your financial future!)

The most common contributing factors include:
  • Taking a “there’s plenty of time for that later” attitude and thinking your goals are so far off that you do not have to think about them now
  • Seeing financial planning as a series of isolated events, not as something that is continuous and connected
  • Not creating a plan that matches your resources with your most important goals
  • Only doing what is expedient and only seeking help when there is a crisis
  • Never articulating and sharing your most important goals and defining your true values
  • Not sharing goals and values with your family

What are the repercussions?
Well, all sorts of problems, big and small, arise as someone falls deeper and deeper into The Financial Alarm Trap™. As they progress from the merely annoying, to stressful, to irrevocably bad, these problems can include:
  • A sudden and dramatic decease in quality of life for you and your family caused by an unexpected event such as illness, death, business failure, and many others.
  • The inability to maintain life style while still financing retirement, or children's education… something always has to suffer
  • For dentists and business owners, their business structure may not benefit family if you can no longer continue in the business
  • A moribund life style takes grip as your progress slows, stops… reverses.
  • Your family does not share true, powerful goals and can not leverage its strength and support for each other

And there are many others…

How do I take action?
It is our belief that while we have been very successful in helping many people just like you, we must learn more about you as an individual before we can truly know if our process and our services are right for you.  That’s why we offer a complimentary Starter Session.  It enables us to understand where you are and where you are going while helping you gain greater clarity around your current situation (both the good and the bad), identify your most important goals, and explore the best options available to you for achieving your goals.

Please call or e-mail if you are interested in exploring this opportunity. We will have a short preliminary conversation, and if we both think there is a fit, we can book your Starter Session. (The session takes about 90 minutes and we ask you to complete a Starter Kit prior to the session, which will take between 15 and 30 minutes to complete.)
